Christmas Newsletter

Updated: Dec 9, 2022

How quickly did this year go for you? It feels like October to me, not 2 weeks away from Christmas!!

Thank you so much

I'd like to express my heartfelt gratitude for everyone who has come to my classes, day retreats and trusted me on their therapeutic health and healing journeys. I get so much joy from spending time with you.

January classes are now available to book online, so please head over to my website and reserve your space. If you wish to delay payment, simply choose the option to pay offline. Classes begin again on Monday 2 Jan, which is a bank holiday. Prices for massage, private and therapeutic yoga are going up by approx £5 in the New Year, but group yoga will stay the same. If you would like to take advantage of the current prices, you can buy a 6 or 12 week bundle before the year is out - please contact me directly to access the 2022 prices as I've just updated them.

Special Offer for January!

I am offering massages on Fridays for just £45 for 45 mins. The perfect way to start the year - where can I sign up?! I like to blend Thai Yoga Massage with Shiatsu, acupressure and myofascial release. Expect to feel blissed out and deeply relaxed.

The TeenYoga Online Summit took place over 3 days in November and was full of inspiring teachers, therapists, Ayurveda doctors and Vedic experts at the top of their field. Master of Yoga and founder of TeenYoga, Charlotta Martinus, shared her experience of talking circles and youth work, and updated us on the research and government initiatives of the Teen Yoga Foundation. I loved learning about the history of the Gayatri Mantra, Ayurvedic wisdom about thriving in Winter, and about dyspraxia and ADHD. The sessions were recorded and available to watch at your leisure - let me know if you're interested to find out more.

New Retreats in 2023!

I am collaborating with a couple of teacher-friends to offer you some retreats. Author and Creative Writing teacher, Susannah Rickards and I will be guiding a yoga and journalling 1-2 day retreat in the UK in early Spring, and Business Coach and Yoga Teacher, Jess Funke-Maspes and I will be offering a 4-5 day yoga and mindset retreat in the archipelago near Stockholm in the Summer. More details to follow soon - if you have any special requests for the mindset workshop or coaching, now is the time to come and chat! In the meantime, do let me know if you're interested.

What I've been enjoying...

  • Spending time with my besties at my big-birthday gatherings - a weekend at Birch hotel in N.London, a party chez moi, a family lunch at my parents, and lunch at the Ivy

  • Watching Louis Theroux interviews on the sofa with Martin

  • Playing tennis, going for walks and my home no-rules yoga practice

  • Listening to new podcasts, Kathy Burke Where There's a Will, There's a Wake, Joe Wicks interviewing Russell Brand (who guides a great meditation at the end), and the Connected Yoga Teacher (check out the episode on Gabrielle Harris and Menopause)

  • Claygate Book Club - new members are welcome; we've been reading The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak, and One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot by Marianne Cronin

I recommend these yogi books

  • Yoga Nidra Made Easy by the wonderfully eccentric, joyful Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and her husband Nirlipta Tuli. They are leading experts on yoga nidra and have written a 700 page encyclopaedia on the subject!

  • The Way of the Five Elements by John Kirkwood (and also The Way of the Five Seasons by the same author)

  • The Inspired Yoga Teacher by Gabrielle Harris (and also her book, The Language of Yin, and her facebook page)

So that's all for now. I love the family time over Christmas, where we get to spend time relaxing in our own homes, reviewing the year, and creating plans and aspirations for the coming year. I also have yet to choose my one-word intention for the new year - it's a powerful practice. I'd love to hear yours x
