My Path to Zen Shiatsu

Zen Shiatsu is a traditional Japanese bodywork method rooted in the principles of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It has evolved into a dynamic healing modality, weaving together movement, meditation, and deep connection. Imagine it as fine-tuning an instrument: when your qi (vital energy) flows freely throughout the body, harmony reigns, and pain or dis-ease dissipates naturally.

Shiatsu is incredibly effective for addressing various forms of disharmony, treating common injuries, chronic pain, and easing emotional and mental tension.

My path to Shiatsu began in 2014 with an intensive yoga teacher training with Strala. I'm so grateful to have found Strala, a modern yoga style beautifully rooted in Chinese and Japanese medicine, Tai Chi, Yoga, and Qigong. Through advanced training, I absorbed shiatsu techniques—learning how to move, connect, sense, see, and interact with specific areas, meridians, and points. This ignited my passion for Chinese Medicine, inspiring me to continue my studies with Strala, Yoga Medicine and BSY.

I love sharing the timeless insights of Eastern philosophy and practices with my clients. Together, we can uncover the root cause of any disharmony and return to the path of optimal health and happiness.

Beyond Zen Shiatsu, I also offer TCM Holistic Health Programmes, Seasonal Yoga and Qigong, Specialist Therapeutic Yoga, and a range of insightful webinars and workshops on Sleep, Mental Health, and Female Health.

What can I expect?

Blissful relaxation from the rocking and rolling motion of dynamic movement.

To begin, I attune to your energy before moving around the body, leaning in and out and lingering on specific acupressure points to create an optimal environment for healing.

Choose from a 60min Zen Shiatsu massage or

90min yoga massage combo.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a specialised bodywork that focuses on alleviating pain and restoring movement by releasing tension in the fascia through the use of foam roller, balls, yoga bricks and blankets.

Fascia is a tough, thin, elastic type of connective tissue that surrounds and connects muscles, bones, organs, nerves, and blood vessels throughout your entire body.  I imagine it like a spider web that provides structural support and allows for smooth movement. In its healthy state, fascia is flexible and stretchy.

Fascia can become tight, rigid, or develop "snags" or "knots" known as trigger points. These restrictions can put significant pressure on muscles, nerves, blood vessels, and organs, leading to pain, limited range of motion, and dysfunction, often in areas seemingly unrelated to where the actual restriction is.

The following factors can affect your fascia:

  • Physical trauma (injuries, accidents, surgeries)

  • Repetitive stress or overuse

  • Poor posture

  • Inflammatory responses

  • Lack of movement

  • Emotional stress

Key Goals and Benefits of Myofascial Release:

  • Pain Relief

  • Improved Mobility and Flexibility

  • Restored Posture

  • Enhanced Circulation

  • Reduced Stress and Tension

  • Injury Prevention and Recovery
